Oil And Gas Surveys

Swaim Engineering and Surveying offers an Oil & Gas Division with a wide range of professional surveying services to meet our clients’ needs.

Services include deed research, working sketch preparation, boundary/surface ownership surveys, mineral lease and unit surveys, location of easements, proposed well location staking, location of existing plug and abandoned locations, and topographic data collection for existing/proposed pad sites, pipeline and road construction, routing and staking of proposed pipelines and easements, locating existing pipelines, and as-built pipeline surveys.

Office services include preparing plats for proposed and as-drilled well locations, lease/unit plats, permit/drilling plats, P-12 plats, road and pad layout plans and plats. We also work with local governments (your city), state (Texas), and federal agencies (like the BLM) to identify their specifications so we can prove you with the right services needed to complete your project. We provide a variety of drawings, exhibit maps, and data to meet each projects specific need at the well location.

We offer pipeline planning services such as large preliminary route plats consisting of aerial images, ownership parcel maps. Landowner exhibit plats, TxDOT bore permit plats, and plan and profile drawings for roadway crossing permits.

Swaim uses the most current technology and state of the art interoperable field equipment such as Topcon total stations and data collectors with TDS software, Trimble 4800 RTK, and 5800 RTK systems. In the office, workstations are outfitted with the most up-to-date software with both Autodesk and Bentley Powerdraft with Trimble Geomatics Office and TDS Surveylink job processing, giving Swaim the ability to be extremely flexible in terms of deliverables and meeting specific client needs. In addition to two full time field crews, we have added flexibility to form up to two additional on demand field crews with the office staff members which enhances our flexibility and a turnaround rate which is another benefit that sets us apart from the competition.
